THE ART + SCIENCE OF DESIGN

I'm JON, and I'm a creator. It's who I am, it's not what I do. I am also a Jersey-born turned desert dweller, History degreed, fanatical hockey goalie/coach/parent, and lover of modern architecture, furniture and art. I have lived in Sweden, jumped out of a perfectly good airplane 10k feet above the shore, and raised Akitas among many other things. I firmly believe less is usually more, yet strangely, I miss the 80s (and the 70s for that matter).

A shift in my college science studies reconnected me to the creativity that began during childhood and led to a career in design. Over time, I have found that successful design consists of both art AND science, in equal measure. For more than 20 years I have created with ink, paper and pixels for small, private and large, public organizations alike in healthcare, publishing, professional services, non-profit, sports and many others. Working alone or collaboratively with other designers, writers, developers, project managers and vendors, I deliver by listening and serving, by aligning with the client's purpose and intention. Curiosity, passion, and drive for perfection are my fuel. Conceptual and strategic thinking, collaboration, and managing projects from concept through completion with clear communication at every step are the bones. Beautiful, effective execution is the yield.
